Family Day Home Standards Manual Family day home programs are one of the child care options available to parents and caregivers in Alberta. Under section 18 of the Early Learning and Child Care Act, family day home educators can provide child care to a maximum of six children aged 0-12 years old (or 13 or 14 years of age who, because of a special need, require child care), not including their own children, in their own private residences.
