Program Highlights:

  • Government-approved care for infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children
  • Flexible care options: full-time, part-time, drop-in, and before/after school care
  • Some educators offer transportation to/from school or school bus pick-up/drop-off
  • Care available during regular hours, shift work, and weekends
  • Two meals and two snacks daily, based on Canada’s Food Guide
  • Care for no more than six children (excluding the educator’s own) with a ratio of up to two children under age 2 and three children under age 3

Do You Qualify for a Childcare Subsidy?

Eligible lower- and middle-income families may apply for a childcare subsidy if their child is enrolled in one of the following:

  • A licensed facility-based program
  • A family day home program managed by a licensed family day home agency
